History of foot massage

ORIGINS OF THAI FOOT MASSAGE

The practice of foot massage dates back to ancient times. Evidence of this is the discovery of Egyptian hieroglyphs dating back to 2330 BC. Over time and across territories, foot massage has developed to become an integral part of traditional massages.

This is the case in Asian countries like Thailand where a temple dedicated to massage was built from 1788, Wat Pho . Today, the temple has become, among other things, a place for teaching traditional Thai massage.

There are some similarities between Thai football and Thai massage or Thai yoga massage. This is particularly true of movements performed along " energy lines ," called SEN lines in Thai. Although these SEN lines are invisible and anatomically unverifiable, they are believed to rebalance the four fundamental elements of our body (earth: bones and muscles, water: blood and secretions, fire: digestion and metabolism, air: respiration and blood circulation).

During a Thai foot massage session, you will benefit from drainage movements which have their origins in Ayurvedic massage from India .

Thai football also includes a part where specific points on the bottom of the foot are stimulated with a wooden stylus. This is inspired by modern foot reflexology from the early twentieth century in North America .

A massage from various countries to be as effective as possible.

THE BENEFITS OF THAI FOOT MASSAGE

What most often comes back from a person who has received a Thai foot massage is this feeling of lightness in the feet and legs. But not only that, because the foot is the dashboard of our body! You will therefore feel this same sensation throughout the whole body .

Your foot is, most of the time, "locked" in its shoe. Thai football allows you to manipulate and mobilize your foot in a completely new way and releases existing tension .

Using a wooden stylus allows you to apply relatively powerful pressure to specific areas. Here are the 28 points concerned, which correspond to strategic points in a part of the anatomy (see image below):
